A traditional part of the Flora Theatre Festival is also the outlook on the scene of Performing Arts in the Visegrad Region. After last year's conference named Visegrad Dance Platform?, we will now focus only on the presentation of four titles,  two of which were actually created in co-production with the organizer DW7 during an artist-in-residence programme of the Divadlo na cucky theatre.

The book 'Heart of Darkness' is one of the key inspirations of Hungarian dancer Dániel Szász in his solo dance Loop, which makes it the third successive year that this book is somehow echoed at the festival. The Polish scene is presented by Ola Maciejewska's work Bombyx Mori. Ola is originally from Poland but at this moment alternates between the Netherlands and France. The theatre ritual Eau De Vie is a pure Czechoslovakian co-production where dancers Lucia Kašiarová and Peter Šavel meet the musician Tomáš Vtípil. Their work is proof that in the current Prague dance scene it is hard to tell who is Czech and who is Slovakian and that this creative generation has an incessant urge to search for new ways of communication through artistic means. This equally applies to the conceptual duo Švehlová–Mocek, who are authors of the sound performance The Radiant City, which takes place in a concrete block of flats.

The present Visegrad Region is becoming less and less nationally defined. Of course it is not such a cultural and ethnic crossroads as the Netherlands but the direction in which it is heading is clear, in spite of the efforts and statements of various politicians.
